Note: AutomaDome is provided for compatibility with older software. For TheSkyX we recommend using the ASCOM driver instead.
When you install the MaxDome driver, the Software Bisque AutomaDome DomeAPI.dll file is automatically installed. A copy of the DomeAPI.dll file is placed in the AutomaDome folder by default.
Some configuration is required:
Follow the procedure under Dome Setup to configure the dome settings. The COM Port and the Tics per Rev must be set this way.
Exit all Software Bisque applications, including TheSky, CCDSoft, Orchestrate, and AutomaDome
Go to Start, Programs, Orchestrate (or Internet Astronomy Software or RAS), Observatory (ob.exe)
Choose Observatory, Server Connections, and place a check mark next to AutomaDome. If you are not using CCDSoft, remove the check mark beside CCDSoft. You should also remove the check from TheSky unless you are operating a remote connection.
Start AutomaDome
Select Dome menu and click Setup
The COM Port, Baud Rate, and ACL address fields are ignored. The Update period is normally set to 1000 (milliseconds).
Turn on Elevation not significant
Click the Geometry button, and fill in the fields in accordance with the Automadome documentation. Click OK.
You are now ready to slave the dome to TheSky. For operating instructions, go to Operation Via AutomaDome.
See Operation Via AutomaDome for more information.
