This plug-in driver is available as part of the Obsolete Driver Pack.
Please note that we strongly recommend loading the newer Universal firmware into the camera and using the SX Universal driver instead of using this legacy driver.
For this driver, please select STAR2K MX7/9 on the Setup tab.
This driver supports STAR2000 operation for the Starlight Xpress MX716 USB and MX9 USB cameras. The appropriate Starlight Xpress USB drivers that come with the camera must be installed for the camera to work. Click here for MX7C USB cameras.
If you have connected a STAR2000 dongle and wish to use it for outputting autoguider commands, select the appropriate COM Port; otherwise set it to None. Select the appropriate output mode; either ST4 for autoguider pulses, or LX200 for serial port. If you wish to use a Starlight Xpress Autoguider Interface (non-STAR2000) set COM Port to None and go to the Guide tab Settings and change Control Via to SX COM. The Update Progress setting is used to disable progress bar updates during image download. Doing so can prevent horizontal streaking caused by pauses in the readout.
The Advanced button brings up the Starlight Xpress Hex File Utility.
The Starlight Xpress cameras use open-loop cooling, so the cooler controls are not enabled when this camera is in use.
Note: When configuring this driver in the Setup tab, set Main CCD Camera to STAR2K MX7C/9, and turn on Dual Chip Mode in the Setup tab.
Availability of this feature depends on Product Level.
